Nikki Châu

Nikki Châu is a child of the waterways of Central Việt Nam that connect to the Coast Salish via the Pacific Ocean. Nikki is dedicated to the lifelong work of learning and advocating for a world without systemic, interpersonal, and internalized violence. They have worked in UX Design for over 10 years, and they have done anti-deportation, decarceral, and mutual aid organizing since 2017. In 2019, they co-founded a healing and wellness center for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. They currently focus on building Sông2Sea, a community organization for people with ancestral connection to Vietnam and surrounding areas in Asia Pacific, whose vision is a world where multi-ethnic, multi-racial people in diaspora have: access to learning and reconciling our history, a strong connection to our cultures and sense of self that are not essentialized or Orientalized, and a robust understanding of the destructive impact of colonial capitalism and ways to resist, fight, and heal from it. They are an avid fan of wuxia, durian, instant noodle, and meeting cats on walks.
