Joshua, 29, is currently a labor organizer and organizer with the Democratic Socialists ofAmerica. Joshua first began organizing in Chicago, joining demonstrations demanding justice for victims of CPD brutality, and also campaigns to renew the politically vulnerable Illinois CleanWater Act. An ardent climate justice organizer, Joshua spent years organizing with the SunriseMovement beginning in 2019 and has staffed Charles Booker through two US Senate primary campaigns, organized with Kentuckians For the Commonwealth, and volunteered with the 2020Bernie Sanders presidential campaign.A native of Louisville, KY, Joshua endured years of homelessness in early childhood, and as a result, is a firm believer in the revolutionary power of communities to organize against oppression. A singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Joshua especially loves to engage in community through music. And as a People’s Hub artist in residence, it is through collective catharsis, music, that Joshua hopes to engage in the task of strengthening solidarity between communities.
